Here are a few photos of three bikes I
bought as a package. My garage is getting so full of
bikes now I can hardly get my daily rider in and out. My
jeep lives in the street now. |

Above is a 1977 650D. The forks and
cases had been chromed at one time. Those glass packs
have to go. The carbs have now been rebuilt (they were in
pieces in a box at the time of this pic). I'm thinking of
giving this one a Triumph paint scheme in cream and
british racing green. Probably some supertrapp slip-on
mufflers. |

This 1980 650SG has good compression and
runs well. Blows a bit of oilsmoke but I'm hoping that's
just from sitting for so long. |

This 1981 650H had the crustiest carbs
I've ever seen. They are finally apart and clean awaiting
reassembly in this picture. Good compression, I think the
engine may have been recently rebuilt. I've done some
work on this one and discovered a plethora of small
problems. The stator had one coil shorted to ground
internally. As soon as the engine was rev'd enough to
start the two good coils generating current, it got
shorted straight to ground and turned the alternator into
a very effective engine brake. Replaced the stator and
discovered the shifting would overshoot every gear into
false neutral, found a broken spring and replaced it and
now it shifts great. Put in bronze swing arm bushings and
replaced the long bolt after I destroyed the old one
getting it out. |
